So you want to write some book reviews for the Sword & Laser, eh? Hopefully we can answer some of your questions here!

1. You lazy bastards! Why aren't you writing these reviews yourselves?

We wish we could! We just don't have the time. Veronica, for example, hosts two book club shows and barely has time to read a menu at a restaurant. Tom hosts approximately 50,000 podcasts. We'd like to expand the content of the website, and trusted reviews from our beloved audience seems like a way to do it while keeping in the spirit of our community.

2. What kind of reviews are you looking for?

While new and hot books are obviously fantastic, it would also be great to have reviews of some of the SFF classics out there! Since we jump around from old to new in the book club, it only makes sense that the reviews run the gamut as well. So really, anything is game.

3. I write reviews for another website. Can I repost those?

Good question. Reviews on S&L must be original content with no prior publication. The exception to this rule is Goodreads. If you've written an amazing review there and want to share it on S&L, we'll post it and also link back to your Goodreads account.

4. Will you edit our reviews?

We'll add appropriate links, images, or whatever else fits into the review. If we see an egregious spelling error or gramatical error, then we'll fix it (or ask you to). Reviews will be posted on a case-by-case basis.

5. Is this a paying gig?

Sadly, not at this time. We don't have the money for it. This is really for people who are already writing reviews and want a little extra exposure in the SFF space.

6. Where do I send the reviews?
