Anyways, Re: Lion King:
My understanding is that Lion King was a retelling of Hamlet. Vengeful brother secretly murders the King, and usurps the throne. Son leaves the palace to try to find himself, comes back to avenge father, restore the throne and redeem the kingdom. There's even the presence of the dead king's ghost. So yeah, pretty royalist, but because it's a Shakespearean story that was written to appeal to kings.
That said, I agree that from a modern perspective, Scar gives more resources to the underclass by taking from the ruling class. But then lions need more food than hyenas, and also Scar's ruling style seemed to involve over-hunting antelopes, so maybe antelopes preferred Mufasa's rule, though they probably weren't fans of either ruler. The politics get pretty complicated when you have to eat some of your constituents. #Zazu2024

What if the great stories we know were told from the VILLAIN's point of view? 🤔
